Mission
The Journal of International Service provides students with a forum to present their contributions to the field of International Relations. The Journal is committed to publishing articles that represent the academic fields studied at the School of International Service. These include:
- Comparative and Regional Studies
- International Communication
- International Development
- Environmental Politics
- International Economics
- Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies
- International Politics
- US Foreign Policy
The Journal began in 1992 under the name Swords and Ploughshares – a name that represented the process by which a nation transforms from a state of war to a civilization of peace. The philosophy of the School of International Service is a milestone in civilization’s journey toward an international community based on mutual understanding and respect, a philosophy that the Journal of International Service strives to promote.
Submission
Publication in the Journal of International Service provides students with an excellent opportunity to contribute to their fields and enhance their academic experience. Authors must be Master’s or Ph.D. students currently enrolled at the School of International Service, or alumni that have graduated within a year of the current submission deadline. Papers representing all tracks at the School are accepted.
All submissions are blind reviewed and authors are asked to remove any identifying information prior to submission. The Journal will provide feedback via the contact email.
